Common questions
What does the letter do?
It puts the harassment on record, states the rights and rules the other side is breaking, demands that it stops, and warns of the complaint or court action that follows if it does not. For a loan app it also demands that the lender stops contacting your family and friends.
Who can it be sent to?
A police officer, station or unit, a government agency, a loan app or other lender, a landlord, an employer, a company, or a private person. We check the facts and the evidence with you before it goes out and send it on our letterhead.
What if the harassment continues?
The letter becomes evidence for the next step: a complaint to the Complaint Response Unit of the police or the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, to the FCCPC for a loan app, to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where your data was misused, or a fundamental rights suit where your rights have been breached.
